As a dynamic and independent institution, our School guarantees flexibility and accessibility to its users: the teachers are particularly attentive to educational problems and the school management provides its students with individual attention, offering them a welcoming and stimulating environment and guiding graduates into the professional world.

Our teaching staff consists of university researchers and scholars, accredited professionals, native speaker experts in language teaching and qualified tutors and teachers. In the taught courses the class groups consist, on average, of no more than 20 students.

The teaching method is strongly focused on a pragmatic approach geared towards the development of skills and operational expertise. Particular attention is paid to the characteristics of the course subjects: language courses and both written and oral mediation are organized in different seminars taught to small groups of students with the same level of competence. These courses are complemented by cultural and theoretical subjects, always intended, however, to foster a strong interest in current real-world issues and to prepare students for the real and effective use of the knowledge and skills they are acquiring.

STUDYING AT VITTORIA YOU WILL ACHIEVE:

  • A solid, practical knowledge of at least two languages, which include English (compulsory), French, Spanish, German, Russian and Portuguese (level C of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework), and of the cultures of the corresponding countries.
  • Solid skills in linguistic techniques for oral and written translation.
  • Wide-ranging background knowledge in the fields of economics/law, history/politics and literature.
  • Skills in the technologies of digital communication and information management.
  • A good understanding of the issues inherent to specific work environments: in particular, those relating to the principle activities of the region, with a view to their possible future development, also taking into account inter-ethnic and inter-cultural dynamics.
  • The ability to be independent in organizing your work and to integrate readily into any work environment.

NEW COURSES

The great challenges we face for the future involve the natural environment, mobility and technology. They are linked to the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations, goals which are collectively known as Agenda2030 and are now driving many government policies, locally and internationally.

These are global challenges that can only be met through an approach that is interdisciplinary and intercultural. And in all these fields, competence in foreign languages constitutes a key, and very marketable, skill set.

In this context SSML VITTORIA  is expanding its offer to include 3 innovative study pathways that combine advanced professional training in at least two foreign languages and their cultures, with a solid grounding in the fields of economics, IT and social policy.

INTERPRETING AND TRANSLATION

(Two languages and Three languages)

This course is intended for students with an intense interest in the study of foreign languages who wish to work professionally in this field.

Students will study and have practical experience of the specialized techniques used in professional fields of oral and written translation. School facilities include well-equipped language labs and the professional interpreting booths essential for learning the techniques of conference interpreting.

BUSINESS AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION

This course is intended for students who wish to combine their interest in foreign languages with the acquisition of the theoretical and practical tools needed to engage with the new socio-economic dynamics resulting from the “digital revolution”. Students will study the principles of economics and marketing exhaustively, and have the practical experience of planning an advertising campaign, using the tools available on the Internet and on social media.

In this study pathway lessons are held in English.

SUSTAINABILITY AND TERRITORIAL DEVELOPMENT

This course is intended for students who wish to combine their interest in foreign languages with the acquisition of competences linked to the interaction between economics and the environment, as well as the use of technology for the management of the local territory and tourism. Students will study the language of the Green Economy, Tourism Geography and Territorial Development, and will explore issues relating to climate change and sustainable development.

In this study pathway lessons are held in English.
